7 November 2018 – ACM SIGCHI KL Chapter and MyHCI-UX organised an event called UX Discourse. The event was hosted by Dr Nazean and Dr Jamilah from University of Malaya (UM) at IDEA lab, UM. We had 4 speakers sharing their experiences about ACM SIGCHI-sponsored activities and also a research talk.
The details are as follows:
- Dr Masitah Ghazali, the President of MyHCI-UX from UTM (University Technology Malaysia) talked about her ACM SIGCHI Local Chapters Meeting at ACM SIGCHI conference in Montreal 2018.
- Dr Azrina from Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) shared her experience as a HCI (Human-Computer Interaction) Ambassador at UIST 2018 conference in Berlin, Germany.
- Wong Chui Yin from Multimedia University (MMU) shared her experience as an invited Speaker at Asia HCI Symposium at INTERACT 2017 in India. She also shared her presentation about HCI Development in Malaysia at INTERACT 2017.
- Dr Haziq Lim delivered his talk about “Methods for Establishing Requirements for Autism Users.”
Although with small audience, we had good discussion and learnt a lot through each others presentation. The society provides all the HCI researchers and UX practitioners a platform to foster collaboration and network opportunities to work across different universities and other partners in industry.
